PSC – TERAMBY RD LANDSLIP REMEDIATION

Finn Valley was engaged by Port Stephens Council in response to the damage caused by the March 2021 natural disaster. The primary objectives of the project were to remediate the affected area of Teramby Road, install a comprehensive stormwater drainage system, and implement a retaining solution along the failure zone to prevent future incidents.

Project Overview:

Finn Valley was engaged to execute critical infrastructure works aimed at stabilizing and protecting Teramby Road. The project scope included the excavation of material behind the kerb and gutter along the length of the proposed gravity retaining wall. The rectification strategy involved removing the compromised slope and constructing a gabion basket retaining wall according to the provided design. Additionally, drainage pits were to be installed behind the retaining wall to enhance water management.

To ensure long-term stability, the excavated faces were lined with geotextile, providing added protection against future erosion. Disturbed areas were seeded to promote vegetation growth, which will help reduce stormwater run-off and further secure the area.

Conclusion:

Through these targeted remediation efforts, Finn Valley contributed to restoring the integrity of Teramby Road and protecting it from future environmental challenges. The combination of structural and environmental solutions ensured that the area is better equipped to handle stormwater and slope stability, safeguarding the community infrastructure.
