Finn Valley executed a comprehensive project involving the design, construction, commissioning, restoration,
establishment, and testing of a watermain relocation beneath the Henry Street ARTC railway crossing. The
project also included connecting a new DN250 PE100 watermain to existing watermains. Works were
meticulously planned to coincide with the ARTC’s October closedown period from 6:30 am on October 4,
2023, to 8:30 pm on October 6, 2023.
The scope encompassed:
Design considerations included auger bore and casing pipe installation, ensuring alignment with the ARTC
closedown schedule. Site signage and delineation were meticulously arranged to delineate work areas in
accordance with the ‘Work Areas – October Possession – ARTC 202’ plan. Finn Valley collaborated closely
with ARTC-provided resources, including a Track Certifier, Protection Officer, Tamper, Geotechnical Engineer,
Traffic Control for level Crossing Closure, and Track Survey Monitoring. These parties conducted thorough
checks of Finn Valley’s WHS plans to mitigate risks associated with possession-related activities. All workers
underwent ARTC site induction to ensure awareness of relevant risks.
The ARTC works proceeded smoothly, meeting high standards and fulfilling Finn Valley’s expectations. All
documentation, including quality documentation, was promptly provided to the client upon completion of the
works, ensuring full compliance with project requirements and client satisfaction.
