Finn Valley was contracted by Transport for New South Wales for the replacement and extension of multiple culverts along the Kamillaroi Highway, spanning from Baan Baa to Turrawan. The project scope encompassed the provision, transportation, and installation of 36 box culvert crown units and associated link slabs. This entailed excavation to precise design levels, including the removal of unsuitable material as necessary, followed by the placement of a concrete blinding layer.
Additionally, responsibilities included the formation, reinforcement, and casting of footings for culvert base slab extensions and wing wall footings. The project also involved the delivery, positioning, and assembly of box culvert crown units and link slabs, as well as the construction of wing walls and headwalls, encompassing forming, reinforcement, and concrete pouring activities. Furthermore, tasks encompassed excavation and installation of rock scour protection, as well as the excavation and installation of DN450 concrete stormwater pipe extensions and accompanying headwalls. Finally, efforts were dedicated to patch repairing and rectification of structural defects in existing concrete structures, addressing corrosion issues to enhance the longevity of the current culverts.
The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget with minimum disruption to the local community
