BULGA ROAD REHABILITATION REMEDIATION OF LANDSLIPS

Finn Valley has successfully completed the remediation of 6 landslips sites caused by the heavy rains experienced
during the flood events on the Mid North Coast in March 2022.
As this key link road for remote residents it was required to be open daily for the school bus to pass through, the
efficient scheduling of the works each day was paramount to ensure works started as soon as possible, but that the
road was reopened without delay of an afternoon
Site remediation’s included:

  • 480sq.m Geobrugg tecco mesh & installation of 181 soil nails.
  • 40sq.m Reinforced shotcrete retaining wall with no fines concrete backfill and enkamat placed downslope
  • Reinstatement or reconstruct of 176m of table drains
  • Reconstruction of 1120m3 down slope roadway with class D geofabric, geogrid and large dia rock fill, with
    capping.
  • Reconstruction of unsealed roads with DGS overlay to grade and shape of engineers requirements.
    Supply & Install of 33 reflective aluminum guideposts.
  • Place jute matting or restore areas as required to stabilise cleared areas effected by works

All works were completed within scheduled allowances and to MidCoast Council Specifications & Requirements
